The Filer (2023)

Created for my Freshman Studio Art final, The Filer is a 2' x 1' sculpture of an apartment building, lasercut from masonite and assembled with sobo glue, and complete with an operating revolving door. Each window pane is created from two layers of japanese rice paper and a mixture of elmer's glue and water.

The Filer is an expansion of a concept that has always fascinated me: the connections and histories of people in urban space. Each window of The Filer opens as a drawer, holding an identification card for the apartment's tenant.
